NUTRITION

The number one tool for better health is good nutrition.

A healthy diet—comprised of a balance of the right nutrients—supports the treatments at the Gedroic Medical Institute and sets the body up for healing. This is why nutritional advice is woven into treatment protocols for all our patients.

How the Right Food Affects Our Health

Food feeds our body, and more specifically, it feeds our cells. Our body is made up of cells, trillions and trillions of cells. These cells take in nutrition from the body and get rid of waste through their porous cell membrane. If these cells don’t have enough of the right nutrients like minerals, vitamins, fats, and protein they’re unable to fight off everyday illness and resist disease.

Processed and artificial foods—which are devoid of these key nutrients—are the top culprits when it comes to poor nutrition and an unhealthy body. They’re full of ingredients created in factories, ones that we, and our bodies, aren’t able to recognize (and many of which we aren’t even able to pronounce), triggering chronic inflammation and putting a tremendous burden on the liver (a key detoxification organ) and the microbiome (our gut, where seventy percent of our immune cells are found). A simple rule to follow: If you can’t pronounce the ingredient on the label, then it doesn’t belong inside your body.

What to Eat for Better Health

We advise every patient to keep a log of what they are eating for at least two weeks prior to their first visit with us. Being aware of what you’re eating and listening to how your body reacts to foods is the first step to a path to wellness.

Organic whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts/seeds, legumes, healthy fats, and clean protein are the basis of every diet we “prescribe” here at the Gedroic Medical Institute.

Patients who eat healthier begin to notice that symptoms like pain, fatigue, brain fog, and skin rashes recede; they sleep more soundly; they have more energy to do the things they want to do; they feel better overall; and their skin glows.
