Your Appointment with Our Psychologist

At the Gedroic Medical Institute, we know that total health requires a healthy body and a healthy brain—and that the body and mind are inextricably linked. Prolonged psychological stress—which often accompanies chronic illness and occurs as a result of daily life and how we react to it—can dramatically affect health and well-being.

Supporting both a healthy body and a healthy brain is a key component of care at the Gedroic Medical Institute and one that our psychologist Rebecca Loomis understands and puts into practice with patients on a daily basis.

Dr. Loomis has over twenty years of experience providing psychological care, particularly in the areas of chronic illness and acute pain/pain management.

Each session with Dr. Loomis lasts forty-five minutes. In a warm, supportive and nurturing environment, Rebecca explores each patient’s mental health history as well as familial history. She helps patients— adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples—with a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, medical illness, pain management, relationship issues, divorce, ADHD, learning disabilities, eating disorders, OCD, developmental disability, and more.

Her goal is to alleviate suffering, improve coping skills, maximize daily function, facilitate decisions regarding work return, and help families understand and support the patient.
